Nature & Reflection
The Evangelical Center is blessed to be set in a landscape that seems to breathe peace and stillness into every moment. Guests are invited to wander slowly among the trees, listening to the gentle rustle of leaves and the songs of birds carried on the breeze.
Scattered throughout the grounds are quiet places that welcome you to sit, rest, and simply be. Whether you choose a shaded bench, a sunlit garden corner, or a spot overlooking the sea, these natural sanctuaries provide the perfect backdrop for prayer and meditation.
Beaches & Relaxation
Just five minutes by foot from the Evangelical Center, you’ll find some of Greece’s inviting beaches, each offering its own unique charm. For those seeking peace and solitude, quiet coves provide the perfect setting for prayer, reflection, or simply enjoying the sound of the waves. For others who prefer activity, there are lively stretches of coastline ideal for swimming, sunbathing, or playing together as a group.
Sports & Leisure
Our sports and recreation areas provide many opportunities to relax, recharge, and connect with others. Whether it’s a friendly match on the courts, a lively game in the open fields, or simply enjoying the outdoors together, these spaces invite laughter, teamwork, and joy.
Places for basketball, soccer, volleyball, table tennis and table football and a children’s playground are all available at the Center.
Guests of all ages can participate, making recreation not just a way to stay active, but also a natural setting for building relationships and creating memories. Here, physical activity becomes more than exercise—it becomes a ministry of fellowship.
Local Culture & History
Staying at the Evangelical Center places you amid Greece’s rich history and vibrant culture. A short drive away lies Thorikos, where a modest theater offers a glimpse into the earliest forms of ancient Greek drama. Nearby, the port of Lavrio and its historic silver mines recall how the ancient Athenians discovered valuable silver in these hills. That wealth funded a powerful naval fleet and supported a league of cities, ultimately contributing to the construction of the Acropolis of Athens.
With the water close by, there are world renown sunset views from the nearby Poseidon Temple. If the water is too tempting, we also have diving in the Aegean available from the port of Lavrio. Back on land, there is a local market that attracts vendors from the region, selling their locally raised produce.
Excursions & Day Trips
For those who wish to venture beyond the Evangelical Center, guests can step back in time by visiting nearby historic and Biblical sites-- walking the ruins of Athens and Corinth, or standing at the Areopagus in Athens where Paul preached. There are many beautiful sites nearby like Lake Vouliagmeni (an hour’s drive away) and even very easy access by ferries to a number of nearby Aegean islands.
